Wow what a busy but fantastic final week we have had before our Easter holidays. I am so proud of...
Happy Monday Preschool
We have had a lovely start to our week. The children were very excited to share their autumn bags this morning during greeting time. I was very impressed at how the children sat and listened to each other carefully. With some of the leaves the children had found we used them to thread onto string and made our own leaf necklace.
During the morning Scarlett was very excited to find acorns in the garden. She told me "acorns are a sign of autumn". As a group we collected lots of the acorns from the ground and used them to count. I can not believe how fantastic the children are at counting so confidently! After lunch we created our own acorn pictures and we learnt that the oak tree in our garden grew from an acorn.
We began our phonics sessions today. Teddy bear group are focusing on listening skills followed by a dough disco session. Butterflies and Rainbows will focus on the letter sound 's' this week. We made our own snakes to support our learning. We will also focus on name recognition and tracing the letters in our names. Keep practising at home too!
See you tomorrow,
Tara
