Gambia comes to Y6 on our Theme Day

Home » News » Gambia comes to Y6 on our Theme Day

What an absolute brilliant day we have all had today.

We celebrated out Theme Day by coming to school dressed in the colours of the Gambian Flag. In our story, Skyhawk, Iris the migrating osprey has finally arrived in The Gambia. We celebrated her arrival by baking Gambian banana bread, making African jewellery, creating African balls for a sporting activity and designing and beginning to create African masks.

We ended our day enjoying our bread on Fort Lewis in the sunshine. Thank you year 6 as I have thoroughly enjoyed my day with you. I would also like to thank Mrs Whittingham for supporting our day, especially during our baking activity.

Have a lovely evening,

Mrs B
