Bonjour!
In our French lessons this week, Y5 and 6 have been working on introducing their families, learning the vocabulary for mother, father, brother, sister (step-brother... sister...father... mother) and identifying the use of la /ma (feminine) and le/mon (masculine) for 'the' and 'my'.
Both year groups are growing in confidence in speaking in French through role-playing conversations.
So far this term, the majority of both classes can:

  • introduce themselves,
  • ask how someone is,
  • respond to a 'how are you?' question
  • introduce their family
  • match pictures of siblings with the written sentence
  • say the French alphabet.

    With Y6, we're also enjoying snippets of Spanish with Josephine's support. Tayla has asked if we can learn about pets, so that's something we'll be looking at during the term.

    I've been really pleased with the enthusiasm from both classes. C'est fantastique!
