E- Safety Talk -- Cheshire Police

Home » News » E- Safety Talk

This Thursday (March 10th) at 3.30pm there will be a parents workshop about ESafety in the Year 6 classroom. This session is primarily aimed at parents of Y4, Y5 and Y6 but any parents are welcome to attend. Our school police liaison officer will lead the meeting. If your child is using mobiles phones, cameras, tablets, laptops or any other device to access the internet or use apps we would strongly recommend you attend this E-Safety talk.

The internet can be a difficult place to keep up to date with -- many adults feel out of their depth and out of date as things change so quickly. Remember age restrictions are put in place for a reason, children below that age are at risk from the content. Most social media sites have a minimum age of 13, including Facebook, Flickr, Instagram, Snapchat, Club Penguin, Pintrest, Skype and many more. Many children in Y4, Y5 and Y6, and especially as they move onto high school, feel peer pressure to use social media sites. It is important you know and understand the sites/apps your children are using or wish to use.

We have therefore organised a Y4, Y5 and Y6 e-safety talk with our Police School Liaison Officer, who will be accompanied by PC Nick Jarvis, to talk through keeping safe on-line on Thursday 10th March in school time.

They will be also be leading a similar session for parents of Y4-6 pupils and staff to give advice about keeping our children safe on-line. This will be on the SAME day AFTER SCHOOL from 3.30-4.30pm in the Y6 classroom. Please let the office know if you plan to attend this meeting.
