Christmas Wishes to all of Year 1
Merry Christmas Year 1!
We have all had a fantastic week in Year 1. A real buzz about Science has led our learning this week. A huge thank you to Mr Tibbetts for planning an exciting session to test how absorbent materials are. The session started with Mr Tibbetts sharing how absorbent his breakfast cereal was. We predicted, used measuring scales and talked all about what we had found out. Later this week, we were excited to help find the best material for our Discovery Dogs. The challenge was to find a material to keep their heads dry when they go out on a rainy picnic. We tested a set of materials, chose the best material, and thought about the reasons why. We all talked about which material was waterproof with confidence.
Our Christmas Party was great fun, particularly with the input of ideas from our Year 1's. A selection of songs, party game ideas and fantastic dancing all helped to plan a super party. The snowman paper plate game was one of my favourite activities, and one I will hope to play again over Christmas.
Thank you for all your kind Christmas wishes, presents and cards. I would like to wish you all a very happy Christmas and the very best wishes for the New Year.
I will look forward to seeing you, and hearing all your Christmas stories, very soon.
Mrs Pointon
