Busy Year 4!

Home » News » Busy Year 4!

Well Year 4, you should be very proud of yourselves this week; not only have your worked your socks off but you have been a real team, supporting each other and helping each other learn- well done!
In literacy this week we have been writing instructions for our Tudor Houses, the class has been very focused on this task, we even showed off our hard work to Mrs Chesters and she was very impressed! There have been some tricky moments when our instructions became rather complicated but we managed to support our writing with diagrams which really helped.
In maths we have been learning the 'Bus Stop' method for division and the children have really pushed themselves with this becoming more confident each day.
We have continued our learning about religion in Tudor times this week. The children have learnt about Roman Catholics, Protestants, Martin Luther and the impact of Henry VIII. We have learnt about the how and why the religion of the country changed during the Tudor times and the children created some beautiful sketches of the ruined monasteries — what busy bees!
We have also learnt a little more about ourselves, we thought about who we were; what our personality was and what made us different, what made us special. We then looked at the Jewish faith and they way in which they name their children, we learnt the Hebrew meaning of our name and considered if this was a true reflection of our character.
Have a lovely long weekend and we look forward to seeing you next week.
