A busy week in Y6

Home » News » A busy week in Y6

We have been working hard in year 6 this week.

In Maths, we have completed our unit on place value including our assessment test. We have recapped the formal methods in addition and subtraction and will continue with this next week.

In English this week, we have completed our recounts of PGL activities. We have thought carefully about our reader and ensured our recount has an emotional content. We will now begin to think about our new unit and consider opening paragraphs for a persuasive write.

This week In Book Club, we have used two different contexts to think about synonyms and antonyms.

We have begun our Science unit this week, Evolution and Inheritance. We discussed the term inheritance and considered all areas of it. We will continue to investigate inheritance further next week.

We have completed our spelling test today and tackled a recap of the Y5 statutory spellings. We have marked our SpaG homework and talked through the questions on Spag.com.

In Music, we continued to learn the Fresh Prince of Bel Air, and coding was our focus in computing.

We have finished our Global Warming Chandelier, and now we need to call upon Mr Burns to hang it for us.

Our Rock Star Battle of the Bands ended with a win, well done Y6, your score topped a whopping 30,000 points! There are some fabulous avatars being created, I am very proud of your successes.

I hope to see your at our Harvest Service on Monday.
A busy week has come to an end and you have earned your rest. Have a fantastic weekend.

Mrs B.
