A busy week in Y5

Home » News » A busy week in Y5

This week in Maths, we have reviewed our fractions assessments and then spent the rest of our week recapping measurement, squared and cubed numbers and decimals. We have now created our own maths treasure hunts and look forward to challenging each other with them this week.

This week in English, we reviewed our newsreels and thoroughly enjoyed watching them together and in Book Club, we reviewed our three reading papers.

In Food Technology this week, we began by evaluating our mould experiments. By the results noted all children were successful and Mrs Casserley popped in to discuss them with our children.
We then became market researchers by tasting different types of bread and recording our observations and tastes. Brioche and bagels were our Y5 favourites. We are now moving on to develop and make our own bread.

Visiting and delivering our buddy letters has definitely been the highlight of our week. We also met parents and received some pictures back too. All very exciting. Miss Gregory gave Y5 excellent feedback for their help, kindness and good behaviour. I am very proud of them all.

We are now ready to record our rainforest raps after spending some time around our school grounds practising.

Hope you are having a great weekend and enjoying the sunshine, Mrs B.
