Autumn has arrived - preschool

Home » News » Autumn has arrived - preschool

What a wonderful week we have had at preschool this week exploring autumn. Each day we began our day by going on an autumn walk to hunt for signs of autumn. The children were excited to find lots of leaves that had fallen of the trees and observing all the different colours. We also found apples, acorns, berries and fungi.

Back in preschool we have enjoyed lots of autumn themed activities. We have been counting with conkers, exploring colour mixing with conkers, threading leaves, painting autumn trees, created leaf crowns, leaf hedgehogs, used autumn finds to create pictures in the play dough, used scissors to cut out autumn pictures and used tweezers to transport conkers — we have been busy!

In other news, we have been developing our independence skills. Children have been encouraged to take off and put on their own shoes and wellies, put on their own coats and pull up their zip, put on own aprons and waterproofs. All children are getting very good at having a go by themselves before asking for help. Keep up the good work at home too!

Next week we will continue our autumn learning and will be having an apple themed week. Hope to see you at our key person meetings during next week.

Have a lovely weekend,
