Apple Crumble - Preschool

Thank you to Alexander who fetched in some apples from his Grandad's apple tree. We are exploring the season autumn and Alexander told us "that apples are a sign of autumn". We used the apples to make apple crumble.

First the Rainbow group helped to chop the apples — being careful using their knife. George said " we have to make sure we don't cut our fingers". Next we put the apple in the microwave to cook. Whilst the apple was cooking we looked at what ingredients we needed to make the crumble, "butter, sugar, flour" Megan observed. We used our hands to mix them all together, "it's tickly" said Megan. "It's soft" said George describing the texture of the flour. Finally we put the apple into our tray and covered with the crumble.
