Anti Bullying Week: Celebrating Difference

Home » News » Anti Bullying Week

Today we have continued with our Anti Bullying week lessons. In Year 3, the story 'Introducing Teddy' has been read and explored. Children discussed what 'be yourself' means and made their own front covers to the story. They also explored gender stereotypes and children were asked to sort 'stuff for boys' and 'stuff for girls'. Mr Dale was really impressed with your answers when by the end of the lesson you came to the conclusion of "play with whatever makes you happy!" I can't wait to see your finished front covers with blurbs all about you!

Year 5 and 6 both started their lessons yesterday exploring their understanding of diversity. Your responses were impressive. They then read a story called 'King and King' and wrote responses to the story. This week's book club activities will be based around books about diversity and it has been great to see so many of these being read around school.

In Reception, the children have read a story about celebrating our differences 'Its okay to be different' and have made their own book with their own quotes and illustrations. I can't wait to see it on our display!
