Another busy week - Preschool

Home » News » Another busy week - Preschool

This week saw all our new starters saying for session without parents. We have been enjoying getting to know about you and you are all settling well into preschool and our routine. Most of you will now have taken a 'This is Me' booklet home, this is for you to fill with photographs and information about you and your family to share with us all at preschool.

We had a focus on winter animals at the start of the week, we have learnt about polar bears and penguins. We looked at where these animals live and used a globe to find where the Artic and Antarctica were. We have enjoyed lots of crafts and activities focusing on these animals; creating a polar bear, footprint penguin, polar bear headband to name a few. We were very lucky to have real snow to play in this morning to before it melted, we decided this was definitely a sign of winter and that we wished we had fur like a polar bear to keep warm!

We have looked at ordering numbers and stuck numbers on penguins to order correctly 0-10 and some children managed 1-20 — wow!

We have continued to develop our cutting skills, we cut out shapes to create a penguin, I can see a huge improvement in the children's cutting abilities.

We have enjoyed sharing books children have fetched in this week too.

Have a lovely weekend,

Tara
