So...what a couple of weeks! This weeks news is last weeks and this weeks combined after technical...
Another busy week in Y6
A busy week in Y6.
In Maths, our learning continued with fractions. This week we used our common factor skills to add and subtract fractions, remembering to simplify where we could. Next week we will multiply and divide fractions.
In English this week, we created a class word bank from images of Carding Mill. We read two different pieces of river descriptions and identified the features needed for our own write. We began our first paragraph and we will complete our descriptions next week.
During book club, our focus has been on text retrieval. We have used an article about the archaeologist Howard Carter to answer questions fully.
We put our final touches to our river models this week and they will now be on our Geography and class displays. They look super and have been a talking point for all staff. Well done Y6.
Our educational visit to Barclays Technology Centre was both hands on and fun. We coded robots and watched them perform different tasks. We were amazed to hear that over 3000 people work at the centre and it is the largest technology centre in the world!
New homework has been set and will be reviewed next Friday.
Thank you for all your recyclable materials sent in so far. If we could continue to collect items next week, we will then be prepared for our Design and Technology unit on recyclable clothing.
I am very proud of all my Y6 children, you have shown thought, care and respect during a difficult week. Have a lovely weekend.
Mrs B.
