8 for 8 and Fort Lewis

Home » News » 8 for 8 and Fort Lewis

Yesterday afternoon our school community joined together to celebrate what would have been Lewis' 8th Birthday by completing an '8 for 8' fun run. Our children ran a relay around the field, carrying a Team Lewis baton symbolising us carrying Lewis' spirit and legacy between us all. Children from Preschool to Year 6, parents, grandparents and friends ran, walked and skipped around our track.
At the end of the afternoon, our community came together to sing Happy Birthday and officially open Fort Lewis — the magnificent piece of play equipment which, through fundraising and sponsorship, we have been able to purchase in Lewis' memory. We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone — individuals, groups and businesses which made this possible. Mrs Bielby has been the driving force behind this project and we would all like to thank her for the time and effort she has put in to making this happen.
Lewis will always remain in the hearts of Wybunbury Delves. The Fort will be treasured by my Wybunbury Delves children for years to come.
