In times of National or Local Lockdown our school will operated as a Childcare Provision for the children of Critical Key Workers and those children who are vulnerable, when asked to do so by the DFE.
The Government have provided guidance as to who qualifies in this category. It can be found here.
For the children who attend this provision it is vital that parents must do everything they can to ensure children are not mixing socially outside of school. They must observe the same social distancing principles as adults, as far as possible.
Your child must be on our Critical Key Worker or Vulnerable List to be able to book a place. We ask that parents only book places when they are needed. Bookings must be made to the firstname.lastname@example.org email address and your booking will be confirmed.
If demand for places if greater than that we can provide will we follow the CDAT flow chart to allocate places. It can be found here.
January 2021 National Lockdown
Information Update for Key Worker Provision
Dear Parents and carers,
A huge thank you for reviewing your needs and for those of you making changes where you have been able to. It is really appreciated and has helped us to meet needs. The DFE guidance states that, "parents and carers who are critical workers should keep their children at home if they can" please respect this and if you have the opportunity for your child to be at home rather than on a booked session, please do so.
From Monday we are making some changes to our Provision Bubbles, there will be 4 Bubbles for KWV and Preschool will be open as an Early Years Provision as normal. This means there are up to 75 children and staff on site each day.
The children will be told which bubble they are in when they come in next week, there can be no changing between the groups due to the need for consistency in both children and staff to a bubble.
RED BUBBLE — All Reception children + some Year 1 children; PE kit on Mondays/Uniform the rest of the week. Based in Reception classroom
YELLOW BUBBLE — Mixed Y1 Y2 Y3 children; PE Kit on a Monday/Uniform the rest of the week; Based in Y2 classroom
GREEN BUBBLE — Mixed Y3 and Y4 children; PE Kit on a Wednesday/Uniform the rest of the week; Based in Y4 classroom
PURPLE BUBBLE — Mixed Y5 and Y6 children PE Kit on a Thursday/Uniform the rest of the week; Based in Y5 classroom
The Bubbles will be kept to 15 children or less and we will maintain consistency of the groups. Your child may find they are not with their usual staff. Sportscape will deliver some of the PE sessions, Mrs Swan or Mrs Jenkins the other.
Uniform is to be worn apart from on PE days, see above
Lunch is available from the school kitchen, a menu has been sent previously. Children from Rec Y1 Y2 and FSM children are entitled to a free lunch. Children from Preschool and KS2 this is available at the usual cost of £2.40
Packed lunch from home should be brought in a disposable bag.
No school bags, ruck sacks, things from home to be brought in please.
If your child is attending part time they will need to bring their home-learning pack back and forth between school and home.
When dropping/collecting your child ensure you wear a mask, adhere to social distancing and follow the one-way system please.
Part-time bookings must be made to access this provision by emailing the email@example.com
Attendance at the Key Worker/Vulnerable (KWV) provision does not have to be full-time, it is a child care provision for when you need to work and there is not someone at home who can look after your child.
If a child/staff member becomes ill from the Bubble and goes on to test positive for COVID the whole bubble will have to self-isolate for 10 days. In this instance we will have to close the bubble for ALL children associated with it as we have no staff who can open the bubble to those unaffected by the self-isolation. WD staff are not on a rota, we are working our usual hours.
Please ensure we have the most up to date emergency contact details for your child.
We will spend time completing the home-learning set by your child's teacher and following the usual school day timings.
Timings: The KWV provision day with by 8.45am-3.15pm, please drop and collect from the playground.
Please follow the one way system, social distance and wear a mask at all times whilst on site.
Drop off time: Between 8.45-8.55am on the playground, staff on duty each day will greet you.
Pick up time: Between 3-3.15pm on the playground, please wait (socially distancing) on the playground and we will come out to you.
OOSC — We are planning to open at the usual times and costs. Sessions must be booked with Clare firstname.lastname@example.org Usual cancellation terms apply.
Absence: Please let us know if you child is ill, especially if it is COVID symptom related. If your child does not come in for a session we have booked on our list and you have not contacted the office, we will phone to find out why.
Advanced warning: February Half term — In previous lockdown situations we have been able to maintain KWV provision being open at Easter and Summer Half term. This was due to being able to have a skeleton staff in school throughout and allowing staff to have their holidays, either at the 'proper week' or in lieu. All WD staff are currently working their usual hours, this means we will not be able to offer Feb half term provision. Please ensure you are mindful of this and plan accordingly. We will close for half term on Thursday 11th February as planned in our term dates.
It has not been the week any of us planned! We are certainly ready for the weekend! But is has been lovely to still be able to see some of our families and the online work has been amazing.
Thank you for all you do in your Key Worker roles. You do an amazing job. Have a lovely weekend.
