Our preschool has a key person system. This means that each member of staff has a group of children for whom they are responsible for .Your child's key person will be a person who works with you to make sure that what we provide is right for your child's particular needs and interests. When your child first starts at the setting, their key person will help your child to settle and become familiar with preschool life . Throughout your child's time at preschool they will provide opportunities which will help develop learning. Each term you will have the opportunity to meet one to one with your child's key person, during this time you will be able to share learning journeys, discuss learning and development and talk through their next steps.
The setting keeps a learning journey for each child. Your child's learning journey helps us to celebrate together their achievements and to work together to provide what their next steps are for learning To do this she will collect information about your child's needs, activities, interest and achievements. This information will enable the key person to identify your child's stage of progress.
As well as gaining qualifications in Early Years Care and Educations, the preschool staff take part in further training to help them to keep up to date with thinking about early years care and education.
