A news update from our Kaiyaba Primary School, our partnership school in Kenya. 'On 16th...
Our school was a sea of knights, princesses, dragons, St. George flags and red and white on Friday...
Welcome back, I hope you have all had a fantastic break and thank you for all your lovely Easter...
This week Year 4 have been working hard.
In Literacy we have started looking at Viking Sagas and we enhanced the Saga of Erik the Red by adding in dangerous dragons and terrifying thunder storms! Each group then performed their improved sagas to the class.
In Numeracy we have been looking at doubling and halving which we are now all very good at. We can even do it in our heads which has definitely helped us during our Mental Maths test. Today's lessons was slightly different though because we did a number puzzle called The Magic Square. It was challenging but we learnt a few tips and tricks to help us.
In the afternoons, we have been busy learning all about the Viking gods. Do you know who Odin was because Year 4 certainly do! We learnt that Odin was the 'top god' who created the different worlds and that the Vikings believed that us humans lived in a place called Midgard.
Also, we are having great fun learning how to play our brass instruments, so don't forget to keep practicing because it really is worth it!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend and are ready for lots more learning Monday.
