Year 3 news
It has been yet another busy week in year 3.
In Literacy, we have worked very hard on our Survival Guides. We have learnt how to add clauses to our sentences and link them cleverly. We have also added commas to our writing and extended sentences. Some of our work will be showcased in our study work books.
In maths, we have investigated number sequences and patterns. We have enjoyed using our knowledge of patterns to solve problems and investigated patterns in the times tables. We even discovered some new rules to help us when we check calculations. Mrs Casserley and Mrs Chesters came to visit one of our lessons and they said that year 3 are very good learners indeed.
We have enjoyed our Singing Playground songs, had a thoroughly good World Book Day (Well done to Emily for winning the Year 3/4 prize with her 'Dorothy' costume!) and have explored rock samples in science.
Tomorrow, we will hear the story of Easter and look at examples of how Easter is depicted in art. We will use one picture to create an Easter story wreath.
In French, we will move on to learning the days of the week.
I hope you have enjoyed using My Maths to complete your homework tasks and are also looking forward to all the activities which are planned for Sport Relief next week. Don't forget your P.E. kits. You will need them every day!
