Year 3 news

Home » News » Year 3 news

This week in Literacy, we have continued to work on non-fiction texts, writing instructions on how to turn a teacher into a dragon! The children's instructions have been so successful, I'm considering hiding in a cupboard next week!

In maths, we have worked very hard on learning to tell the time and every child has made progress with this difficult concept.

Our afternoons have been spent working on Medieval castles and completing study work. Year 3 are becoming wonderful independent learners; able to organise themselves and classroom resources.

Today, we enjoyed a very special worship. Mrs Cador and Mrs Burns shared their experiences at Kaiyaba with the whole school. The children listened very carefully and it was a joy to see our friends in Kenya at work and play. Afterwards, we opened and read letters from our partner classes. Year 3 were surprised but happy to see that the children in Kaiyaba send their love! I rang and spoke to Betty (the headteacher) earlier — what a treat to be able to tell her first hand how much the Kaiyaba/Wybunbury partnership means to us all!

Tomorrow in R.E., we will think about the Christmas story and imagine the feelings of Mary, Joseph, the shepherds and kings on that special night long ago.
