Year 1 Stockley Farm Trip

Home » News » Year 1 Stockley Farm Trip

We had a fantastic day yesterday at Stockley Farm. The day started with some time in the large play area, followed by bottle feeding baby goats called Salt and Caramel, meeting the pony called Flare, stroking the large animals including Sophie the highland cow and feeding a very large pig called Gladys! We then had a picnic outside in the sunshine. Afterwards, we had a ride on Stockley Farm's tractor (John Deere the children pointed out to me!) to the nature walk where we saw lots of different habitats, went on a minibeast hunt and then rode on the tractor back to the main farm. We then met the birds of prey including Lily the barn owl! The staff at Stockley Farm commented how extremely well behaved the children were and our guide, Sam, said she had never met a class so knowledgable about animals and especially their knowledge about birds! Well done Year 1! The children were an absolute pleasure all day and a fantastic day was had by all!

Thank you to Mrs Seville, Mrs Izadifar, Mrs Taylor, Mrs Masser and Mrs Jenkins for accompanying year 1 and myself and helping to make the day so successful.
