This week in Year 3, we have used book club time to explore the features of non- fiction texts and discussed page layout and design. In Literacy, we have presented our diaries for study work.
During Numeracy lessons, we have worked collaboratively to share all our mathematical knowledge to solve problems. We have applied all our learning so far and refreshed some key skills.
We have had visitors this afternoon from Crewe's IRIS centre, including Rabbie the wonderful guide dog. They have shared with us the ways in which people who have sight difficulties can be helped and supported.
In French this week, we will assess our learning so far by answering questions with a partner and this may continue next week.
Our R.E. in year 3 for this half term will be all about our understanding of God. We will ask what is God like and learn more about how other religions may hold similar or different views on this big question.
Next week, Year 3 will complete their optional SATs. The week will be organised so that every child is able to access the tests and show what they can achieve as we approach the end of Year 3. This is only a snapshot of your child's abilities and assessments will also be based on their learning throughout the year. The tests will be very low key and each child will be helped to feel secure so that they can achieve their best. Afternoons will be study work based.
OUR POWWOW...I have started to make plans for our end of Year 3 Powwow celebration day and will let you know the date as soon as I see an improvement in the weather. More sun dances may be required!!
