What a busy week it has been in year 3.
We started our Sport Relief week with a very lively athletics session with Mrs. Bevan. It was a great way to get motivated on a Monday morning! On Tuesday, we thoroughly enjoyed Tae Kwon Do, with Anya (and children from other classes) modelling the moves. I know some children have since signed up with Mr. Wright for lessons which is brilliant news! Wednesday brought hockey and the children demonstrated great skills, controlling the ball and scoring goals thanks to Mrs. Reece- Gresty and the coaches from Whitchurch hockey club. Today, we had the chance to take part in penalty shoot outs and other activities to raise money for Sport Relief and it was lovely to see the children in all their sporty clothes with some dressed up as favourite sports personalities. Well done, year 3. As always, you participated very enthusiastically.
Other work this week has included: completing our survival guides in literacy, our work on patterns and sequences in maths and some truly outstanding technical drawing of yachts in design and technology.
This afternoon, we revised all of our work from this half term in French. It is such a treat to hear the children happily introducing themselves, counting and sharing the colours they know. The classroom was buzzing with French conversation.
Next week, year 3 will share a worship based on 'The water of Life' with the whole school and today they showed they can project their voices and share our message very clearly indeed. We will also begin an investigation about Forces when we test parachute materials and record our results.
Phew! I think you've all earned a weekend!
