We have been shining brightly to share our Lenten Service to our Mums and Dads and members of the community this week. It has been a wonderful way to end our term and lead us into our Easter holidays. Thank you to everyone who joined us.
Symmetry has been the main focus within our Numeracy work this week. We have explored new vocabulary and worked out how mirrors can help us find the lines of symmetry in different shapes. We have moved onto drawing symmetrical pictures and looked at how to solve a numeracy problem based on symmetry.
We have been getting ready to write our explanation piece this week, and we have explored how to use paragraphs to help structure our writing. We enjoyed reading examples of our super sentences. This enabled us to recap on the key features of our explanation. Like real writers, we teamed up with a partner to re read our writing and complete a writing checklist. The conversations that took place were really encouraging.
We have spent today celebrating our Non-Fiction Reading challenge by reading an information book in the hall as the damp weather made the field too wet this time! We shared amazing facts with Reception and Year 1. The FOWD activities have been great fun too! Your decorated eggs were super!
We have had a very exciting addition to our classroom this week. We are now up and running with a new interactive TV! We are looking forward to using it next term.
All in all an exciting week, and our Let the Magic Begin study work books are looking great too!
Have a wonderful Easter holiday.
