Writing poems, singing, counting meerkats and designing chimp havens, our Year 1s have been a busy...
What a lovely week to finish the half term! This week we have been learning even more about...
Reception, I can't believe we have made it to the half way point of our school year already...
Today, the year 3 classroom was taken over by a gang of marauding Outcasts! Robin Hood, Maid Marion, Friar Tuck and their band of Merry Men came to visit and what a day they had!
They certainly knew a thing or two — answering quiz questions on the tale of Robin of Sherwood, science and history! They were obviously not used to buzzers though as 'boings' and doorbell sounds filled the air!
They wasted no time in unscrambling anagrams and were very quick to decode a message from a stranger...and reply in code in order to receive their treasure!
In the afternoon, they settled down to enjoy the story of their life, retold by Walt Disney and his friends and cleaned up a very tasty picnic.
The room was filled with fantastic costumes, shields, bows and arrows and it made a very funny audience for the fantastic Key Stage One Nativity, especially as a row of vikings were sitting just behind!
Miss Lake would like to thank the children, parents and grandparents for entering into the spirit of the day and for all their hard work with costumes, shields, bows and arrows...and the amazing woodland themed picnic they prepared.
What a brilliant end to our topic!
