Our week in Year 2

Home » News » Our week in Year 2

We have had great fun using the numicon in Numeracy this week. We decided the pieces were like jigsaw pieces and they were going to help us with our number bonds, and they have! Already this week we have used them to help recall facts, make connections and provide a visual before writing different number sentences.

Our Literacy work has been based on Everything on earth has its own time, and during our reflection time we had chance to look at letters and work from Kaiyaba Primary School. We are planning a worship next week based on this theme and we are looking forward to leading worship to the rest of the school.
Are you inspired by the sea?

This famous painting has helped us to explore our feelings and responses. We are looking forward to using a zoom tool, and if you haven't already we will look closely at the painting next week. We haven't found out the name of the painting or the artist yet!

In PE we have been machines individually and in groups. This has helped us to focus on our movements to create movement pieces based on the mechanical toys from Leon and the Place Between.

We have moved onto the Easter story today in RE and we have been introduced to Palm Sunday. The classroom is currently full of palm leaves with images of the story!
