Our week in Year 2

In Literacy we have been writing about our visit to Chester. We have enjoyed using maps on the computer to find out the route we walked from the Grosvenor museum to the amphitheatre.

Our study work books are really taking shape. We are looking forward to sharing our Autumn and Spring Term study work books on Monday afternoon in the school hall. We have been designing our own pages and with help from our friends, we have developed the way we can present our study work pages.

This week in Numeracy we have enjoyed exploring the best way to add, and we have given strategies names like frog jumps and splits. This has been a fun way to develop our skills to add mentally. Roman numerals have been a big part of our investigation work this week. We have explored the value of each symbol and then used them in different number sentences. The roman numerals have been made out of sticks, we have investigated how many can be made with only 3 sticks, and then how many number sentences can then be made with 7 or 9 sticks. We enjoyed using the matchsticks to create different number sentences too.

Our Roman mosaics have also been completed this week, and what great efforts we have had to get them finished. Well done.
