Nursery Rhyme Week - Preschool

Home » News » Nursery Rhyme Week - Preschool

Our week continued learning more nursery rhymes.

Hickory, Dickory Dock,
The mouse ran up the clock
The clock struck one
The mouse ran down
Hickory, Dickory Dock.

Wind the bobbin up,
wind the bobbin up.
Pull, pull, clap, clap, clap.
Point to the ceiling,
point to the floor.
Point to the window
and point to the floor
Clap your hands together 1,2,3,
Put your hands upon your knee!

Old King Cole was a merry old soul,
and a merry own soul was he.
he called for his pipe and he called for his bowl
and he called for his fiddlers three.

Each day we have enjoyed may activities based around each rhyme, from making clocks, measuring mice tails, painting with bobbins, using positional language, creating crowns and much more.

In large group time we have been tapping rhythm using our bodies through clapping, stamping, patting and tapping.

In other news, we have continued out nativity rehearsals and have even begun practising in the hall on the stage. We have created our head wear for our characters and have been busy thinking of actions to go with our songs.

Lastly, thank you for coming dressed in spots yesterday and helping to raise money for children in need — what kind children you are.

Have a lovely weekend preschool,
