Interfaith Week in Year 2
What gifts would you give to God's World?
We have thought about this question in relation to God's world is a gift on trust. This has been our theme for Interfaith Week based on the Global Dimension. We have created role plays about the gift of giving, written prayers, and created a gift box full of words that we would like to give to God's World. We have used word books to extend our word choices and we have thought carefully about choosing the most appropriate words to give, just like when you choose a gift for a close friend or relative. We also thought about the world in more detail as we gathered around a big world map to share our learning with Year 1.
Our responses to why is God's world special to us have helped us to write prayers too.
'No matter what colour you are, which country you come from, God will always love you.' Sam
'God's world is peace on earth.' Jack
In Numeracy we have explored fractions to look at halves and quarters. We have been halving shapes and sets of objects. We are recognising the ½ and ¼ signs too. We are developing our gymnastic work to link our movements both on and off the apparatus. We are now reading the Parable of the Sower and the Seed in RE and we have begun our own role plays.
